This policy explains what the House of India PA app collects, why it collects it, and who else is involved. It covers the mobile app and the ordering services behind it. We've tried to write it in plain language rather than legalese.
Who we are
House of India PA operates restaurants in Chester Springs and Oaks, Pennsylvania, and is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us about privacy at houseofindiapa@gmail.com or by calling either restaurant on (610) 200-5233.
What we collect
We only collect what the app needs in order to work.
| Account details | Your email address and password when you create an account. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple provides and the email you choose to share. |
|---|---|
| Your profile | Your name, phone number, and — if you choose to give it — your birthday. Name and phone are used to prepare and hand over your order. Your birthday is used only to add bonus reward points during your birthday week. |
| Order information | What you ordered, from which restaurant, when, the total, and whether it was pickup, delivery, or dine-in. |
| Payment information | Card payments are processed by Square. Your full card number is sent directly to Square and never reaches our servers. If you save a card, we keep only Square's reference to it, the brand, the last four digits, and the expiry date. |
| Delivery addresses | Addresses you enter for delivery, including any you choose to save. Address suggestions are provided by Google Places as you type. |
| Notification token | If you allow notifications, your device is issued an anonymous push token so we can tell you when your order is ready. It doesn't identify you personally. |
| Favorites & preferences | Dishes you save, and your choices about promotional push and email. |
How we use it
- To take, prepare, and hand over or deliver your order.
- To keep you updated on the status of an order you've placed.
- To run the rewards programme and apply the points you've earned.
- To calculate delivery distance and fees.
- To respond when you contact us.
- To send offers and news — only if you've left those switched on.
- To meet our tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.
Rewards and your phone number
Our rewards programme runs on Square Loyalty, and accounts are keyed to your phone number. That's what allows the points you earn in the app and the points you earn at the register to land in the same account. If you'd rather not have a rewards account, simply don't join — the rest of the app works without one.
How long we keep it
Your profile is kept while your account exists. Order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is generally several years, even if you later delete your account. Push tokens are discarded once they stop being valid.
Your choices
- Update your details — Profile → Personal Settings, at any time.
- Turn off promotional messages — Profile → Communications. Order updates are separate and are covered there.
- Turn off all notifications — in your device settings, which overrides anything set in the app.
- Remove a saved card — Profile → Payment Methods.
- Request a copy or deletion — email houseofindiapa@gmail.com and we'll respond as required by law.
Deleting your account. Email us from the address on your account and we'll remove your profile, saved cards, favorites, and notification settings. Completed order and payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require — that's a legal obligation rather than a choice.
Children
This app isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections, card details are handled by Square rather than by us, and access to customer information is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously and act quickly when something looks wrong.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
